Hey friends! Thank you for all of the love you’ve shown us in the face of news that wasn’t quite what we wanted. We’re so grateful.
Molly Margaret will be undergoing surgery at Duke this coming Tuesday, Feb. 15th. All of the opinions we sought out were in agreement that this is the right next step. We feel confident in the plan and in our team. The same surgeon who performed our first surgery back in October will be performing this surgery. He’s expecting the surgery and recovery to be similar to the last time. We will find out on Monday what time surgery will be and when we’ll need to get there. Most likely it will be early, which would be good.
Specific prayer requests for right now:
- For our surgeon, Dr. Rice – that he would be well rested, have a keen eye, and steady hands. That the Lord would guide him and give him wisdom as he makes on the spot decisions in the operating room.
- That Dr. Rice is miraculously able to remove the entire remaining tumor. The expectation is that this will not happen but we’re praying BOLDLY that it will.
- Protection over Molly Margaret’s right kidney and the main artery leading to it. The tumor is very closely wrapped with those. The goal is not to compromise them so we are praying protection over them so they remain untouched.
- For rest in the next couple of days and nights leading up to surgery. That we would walk into Tuesday well rested and ready.
We will update when we know exactly what time surgery will be and the specific requests we’d like you to pray during the day of surgery. We’re choosing to continue to pray boldly. The devil would like to get in our heads and say it’s not worth it, that it won’t happen, that we won’t get exactly what we pray for… again. He wants us to shy away and ask only for what we think is possible. But we’re reminding him that God and God alone has the final say. We’re speaking the name of Jesus over our home, our minds and Molly Margaret’s body. There is no room for Satan and his schemes here. There is no room for doubt. He gets no foothold in our minds. So we continue on, praying specifically and boldly. We’d love for you to join in those bold prayers. The Lord is listening, He hears our cries, He weeps with us and He is moving. 🤍
“I am confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14
We have another prayer room setup from Monday night at 8pm until Wednesday at noon if you’d like to sign up for a specific time to pray. 24-7 Prayer International – Sign-Up We are so honored that you would commit to praying at a specific hour. It means so much to us. We are so encouraged when we physically see names written down and know there are people on their knees fighting with us. 🥰
