Hi friends! It’s been awhile. We wanted to post a brief update and ask for prayers for this week. The good news is that Molly Margaret is doing great! She’s running around and chatting up a storm. Constantly cracking us up and so much fun to be around. She is joy! She has recently taken on a new role that she’s absolutely thriving in – big sister! We welcomed her little brother, Cooper “Banks”, into the world at the beginning of November. 🤍
Today, we went to Duke for an appointment with our oncologist. He thinks she looks great and is doing well! We’re so thankful. Tomorrow we go back up for her monthly IVIG infusion. We are asking for big, bold prayers. Last month when we went her port did not return blood. It still worked fine and we received the infusion but the question as to why this happened remains. If this happens again tomorrow we will have to do some different things to pinpoint what is going on which could potentially lead to replacing the port via surgery. We are praying big, bold, specific prayers that we would see beautiful blood return tomorrow when her port is accessed. Would you please join us in this prayer?
Finally, on Wednesday, we have routine scans. This month she’ll go under anesthesia and have an MRI. Last time we had a traumatic experience with anesthesia – they took her back away from us before she was fully asleep and she screamed “mama” all the way down the hall. We then experienced some fear of abandonment and other trauma response for a few weeks after coming home. It was terrible. I’m crying just writing it because it makes me sick to relive. We have addressed this with multiple teams at the hospital and it will not be going that way again. Please pray for a smooth transition and that we would be able to go all the way back and stay with her until she’s asleep. Her scans are not until 11:30 so please also pray for a smooth morning as we will have to be masters of distraction since she cannot eat breakfast! And finally, as always, please pray for clear scans. Pray that everything looks as it should and that nothing is concerning from these scans. We will be wearing our believe shirts on Wednesday and would love for you to join us if you’re able!
We are so very thankful for your continued prayers over our family. You’ve carried us through so much in this journey and we are forever grateful. We’re walking into this week expectant, knowing we’ll see God in the details. He’s already seen our port access tomorrow. He’s already seen our scan results. He’ll meet us there and carry us through. ❤️
